ACHIEVEMENTREWARDS 5.2.0
ADVANCEMENTS • DAILY & WEEKLY QUESTS • STORY CAMPAIGN • CO-OP • SEASONS • REWARDS
Make every achievement the beginning of a new adventure.

What is AchievementRewards?
AchievementRewards started as a flexible way to reward Minecraft advancements. Version 5.2.0 builds on that foundation with a much richer progression experience: configurable points, quests, a reward shop, seasonal progression, a mailbox for earned prizes, in-game editing tools and an RPG-inspired story campaign.

Instead of rewarding players only when they complete a vanilla advancement, you can give them a reason to return tomorrow, work toward long-term goals, explore the world, build their reputation and collaborate with friends. It is designed for server owners who want meaningful progression without losing control over the rewards and difficulty.

The original advancement-reward features are still part of the system. The newer quest and story systems are additions, not a replacement for the original idea.

01. Advancement Rewards & Points

  • Reward Minecraft advancements: associate advancements with configurable point values and reward commands.
  • Customize the economy: set different point amounts for different achievements and decide which actions issue additional rewards.
  • Optional command rewards: omit reward commands when an advancement should grant only points.
  • Player-facing progress: allow players to view their points and compare their standing with the community.
  • Leaderboards & progression: support competitive rankings and progression levels.
  • Timed multipliers: run temporary point boosts for events and special occasions.
  • Anti-farming measures: reduce repetitive reward abuse to protect your progression economy.

02. Daily, Weekly & Chained Quests

Give your community objectives beyond the vanilla advancement list.

  • Daily quests: offer recurring activities that encourage players to log in regularly.
  • Weekly quests: create longer goals with rewards for dedicated players.
  • Chained missions: connect quests using requirements and prerequisite objectives.
  • Quest management: use the in-game quest interface/editor to organize and adjust missions.
  • Expanded objectives: build more varied activities around the updated mission system.
  • Progress preservation: maintain player progression across normal server restarts when storage is correctly configured.

Daily and weekly challenges are ideal for Survival servers, progression-based communities and servers that want a healthy gameplay loop beyond repetitive grinding.

03. Shop, Seasons & Reward Mailbox
Your points should feel valuable. Let players earn and spend them through a configurable reward economy, with a GUI shop and progression systems designed for longer-running servers.

  • Point shop: turn earned points into configurable shop rewards.
  • Advanced shop management: extend the original point store into a richer progression feature.
  • Seasons: add a separate seasonal XP/progression track while keeping permanent point balances distinct.
  • Season reset behavior: roll over seasonal progress without automatically wiping permanent progression.
  • Reward mailbox: keep earned rewards ready for players to claim instead of relying entirely on immediate delivery.
  • Configurable menus: customize the player experience through the extended menu configuration system.

04. Story Mode — The Village Secret

A six-chapter adventure, not just a list of tasks.

Version 5.1.0 introduced “The Village Secret”, a story-driven campaign built around a mysterious village and its secrets. Version 5.2.0 expands the experience with cooperative play, a more dynamic finale and new systems that give players reasons to stay engaged after the credits.

Inside the campaign:

  • Six connected chapters: progress through an unfolding narrative rather than isolated quests.
  • Characters and NPC interactions: meet story characters, follow conversations and receive objectives.
  • Dialogue and player choices: take an active role in the story and its personal decisions.
  • Two thematic paths: experience progression shaped around blacksmith and alchemist routes.
  • Clue hunting: discover investigation clues through proximity-based exploration.
  • Player-bound quest items: carry important story objects that remain linked to the right player.
  • Quest journal: follow campaign information through /ar story.
  • A Guardian finale: conclude the narrative with a special encounter instead of a simple completion message.
  • Weekly and repeatable engagement: combine story content with rewards designed to keep the world active.

Why it matters: The campaign gives players context, tension, discovery and a purpose for building their character. Story objectives make exploration feel intentional, while rewards connect the narrative with the rest of AchievementRewards.

05. Cooperative Adventures — New in 5.2.0

Bring friends into the adventure with cooperative story sessions for 2–4 players.

  • Cooperative queues and multiple arenas: support group story encounters and separate play spaces.
  • Eligibility checks: shared story clues and victories count for eligible teammates who are on the relevant chapter.
  • Personal narrative integrity: choices, dialogues and item deliveries remain individual even while playing together.
  • Group-scaled challenges: the Guardian encounter adapts to the size of the team.

This structure lets groups tackle exciting shared challenges without allowing one player to skip their own campaign decisions.

06. The Guardian — A More Dynamic Boss
The 5.2.0 Guardian update adds a more interactive encounter with telegraphed attacks, danger/dodge zones, variation in its offensive behavior and scaling for groups. Players have to react to the arena and coordinate, rather than simply dealing damage until a health bar disappears.

Note: Final NPC spawning and combat behavior should be tested on the exact Paper server version before a public release.

07. Objective Compass, Reputation & Post-Story Content

  • Objective compass: help players find their next adventure destination and reduce confusion during exploration.
  • Village reputation: gain standing that influences unlockable titles, decorations and dialogue opportunities.
  • Post-finale assignments: continue after the main six-chapter campaign with rotating daily activities.
  • In-game story editor: use an administrator-oriented editor to manage and customize story content within the game.

These features are intended to make the world react to player progress and to ensure that finishing the campaign does not mean running out of objectives.

08. GUI, Editing & Administration

AchievementRewards includes tools to help administrators manage content without having to rebuild the plugin whenever they change rewards or gameplay settings.

  • GUI-based editing: edit supported advancement/quest content using the available in-game interfaces.
  • Story editing: manage narrative content through the newer in-game story editor.
  • Configurable GUI menus: adapt supported menus to your server's design and progression style.
  • Localized messages: customize the messages your players see.
  • Administration commands: grant, remove, inspect or reset point balances; reload configurations; manage existing features.

09. Data Storage, Language & Integrations

  • MySQL support: store supported player data in a database.
  • Local files: use the available file-based data workflow when a database is not appropriate.
  • Import/export commands: migrate relevant saved data between database storage and local files.
  • Multilingual messages: English, Italian, French, German and Spanish language support; create additional translation files as needed.
  • PlaceholderAPI-compatible point placeholder: display current points with %achievementrewards_points%.
  • Common text variables: {player}, {position}, {points} and {pointsAll}.

10. Private Web License Management
AchievementRewards 5.0.0 also introduced a private web-based license management system for the developer's distribution workflow. It supports license activation limits, time-limited or long-term validity, revocation, signed verification and a configurable offline grace period (72 hours in the implemented design). This system is administrative infrastructure, not a public quest or shop website.

If the release you distribute requires a license key, explain the licensing conditions and how server owners obtain access before enabling or advertising that requirement. No private dashboard credentials are distributed with the plugin description.

Commands
These are the established public commands from the earlier AchievementRewards releases, plus the story-journal entry added during the campaign development. Other 5.x subcommands should be verified against the packaged plugin.yml and in-game help before listing them here.
