AmethystTools

AmethystTools is a customizable Paper / Folia plugin that adds amethyst-themed 3x3 mining tools — pickaxes, shovels and axes in seven tiers — together with an interactive GUI, a tree-felling axe and a fully configurable look.

Inspired by the Amethyst Tools found on DonutSMP. AmethystTools is an independent project and is not affiliated with DonutSMP.

✨ Features

• 3x3 Area Mining — Pickaxes and shovels break a 3x3 area that follows where you look: a wall in front of you, or a floor/ceiling layer when you look steeply up or down.
• Tree-Felling Axe — Fell a whole connected tree in one swing, up to 64 logs.
• Seven Tiers — Wooden, stone, iron, copper, golden, diamond and netherite.
• Interactive GUI — Browse every tier and obtain tools from a convenient menu.
• Protected Blocks — A configurable blacklist protects ores, containers, bedrock and other selected blocks from area breaking.
• Reliable Item Detection — Plugin-specific PersistentDataContainer tags prevent look-alike items from gaining tool abilities just by sharing the same model ID.
• Customizable Appearance — Configure item names, menu titles and messages using MiniMessage, & color codes and &#RRGGBB hex colors.
• Two Mining Modes — Choose NEW for smart tool behavior or OLD for classic 3x3 mining with every tool.
• Configurable Sound Effects — Enable or disable mining sounds and randomize their pitch.
• Configurable Particle Effects — Enable or disable particle effects through the config.
• Enchanting Control — Configure whether enchantments are allowed on AmethystTools.
• Update Notifications — Operators are notified when a new version is available on Modrinth.
• Paper and Folia Support — Designed for both server platforms.

All arguments support tab completion. Incorrect or incomplete commands display Minecraft's own error messages.

📦 Compatibility

• Minecraft: 1.21 and newer, including 26.x versions.
• Java: 21.
• Platforms: Paper, Purpur, Folia and compatible forks.
• Copper tools are only available in Minecraft 1.21.9 and newer.
• Starting with version 1.4, the plugin is distributed as a single JAR file.

Tools created by older versions of AmethystTools continue to work after updating. The configuration is updated automatically while preserving your existing values.
