Config Split, Explosion & Vehicle Protection, Command Blocking Update This update splits the configuration into one readable file per system, adds explosion and vehicle protection, reworks command blocking with a whitelist mode and packet-level enforcement, and modernizes the database with automatic migration. Configuration Rework One File Per System - Particles, command blocking, command spy, and group durations moved out of config.yml into their own files under Systems/. Each keeps its own settings, its own messages, and its own version key. Master Toggle - The new Systems section turns each system on or off from one place. Systems.Enabled disables all of them at once. Separate Sound File - Sounds now live in sounds.yml, grouped into commandSounds, eventSounds, and errorSounds. Duration wording moved into the language files, so it can be translated. New Protection Features Explosion Protection - Creeper and TNT damage is now blocked while protection is active, covered by the existing protectByPlayers and protectByMobs settings. Vehicle Restrictions - Restricted worlds and regions are now enforced while a player is riding a boat, minecart, or horse. The vehicle is pulled back at the border instead of carrying the player through. Environmental Damage Control - Added blockedDamageCauses for lava, fall, fire, and other non-entity damage, with whitelist and blacklist modes. Void, world border, and /kill stay lethal by default so protection cannot be abused. Mob Targeting Cleared - Hostile mobs that target a protected player now lose interest instead of following an invulnerable body around. Command Blocking Rework Block Mode - Added blockMode. BLACKLIST blocks the commands you list, WHITELIST blocks everything except the commands you list. Alias And Prefix Matching - One entry now covers every form of a command. Listing /tpa also blocks /essentials:tpa and every alias the server registered it under, such as /tpask or /call. Packet-Level Blocking - Blocked commands are dropped on the network thread before the server parses them, so no other plugin can un-cancel or run them. This costs no MSPT because it never touches the main thread. Bypass Permission - Added bypassPermission so staff can be exempted. Leave it empty to disable the bypass completely. Fixes & Improvements Blocked Commands Could Still Be Used - Players told a command was blocked could still run it through the plugin-prefixed form or a different alias. Both holes are closed. Hardened Event Handling - The command listener cancels before other plugins run and re-applies the block afterwards if another plugin un-cancelled it. Command Spy Filter - Spies were shown their own commands, while staff who had protection themselves received no notifications at all. Spy output now reaches every spy except the player who ran the command. Command Spy Keeps Working - Commands stopped at the packet layer are still reported to command spy, so staff see blocked attempts. Database Modernization - SQLite and MySQL columns moved to camelCase and are migrated automatically on startup, with no manual work and no data loss. Smart Help - Added smartHelpMessage, which hides help lines the sender has no permission to use. Config Version Keys - sounds.yml and the files under Systems/ were compared against the wrong version key, which caused repeated backups on every startup. Every file now reads and writes its own key. Memory Leak Fixes - Listener and manager cleanup was reworked so player data no longer lingers after disconnects and reloads. New Config Options blockMode - How the command list is read. Default BLACKLIST matchAliases - Match plugin prefixes and registered aliases. Default true usePacketInterception - Drop blocked commands at the network layer. Default true bypassPermission - Permission that exempts a player. Default anewbie.blockcommand.bypass blockedDamageCauses - Environmental damage rules with W or B mode smartHelpMessage - Filter help lines by permission. Default true Before You Update New files are generated automatically and your existing values are kept, so no manual migration is needed. Your old config.yml will still contain the sections that moved out, such as soundSettings and particleSystem. They are simply no longer read and can be deleted whenever you like. WHITELIST mode blocks every command that is not on the list, including login commands. Add the ones your players need before enabling it. Developers: getBlocksPlaced and setBlocksPlaced were removed from the API along with block-place tracking. Remove any calls to them before updating. Found a bug or have a suggestion?
