Better Building

Note: Because of the changes to the config, it's recommended that you delete your config.yml before updating. New placeholder for /betterblock: This new placeholder is called %enable_sides%. It allows the player to enable the sides of a block relative to the player at the time of placing rather than the stiff and constant cardinal directions. It's used for blocks that have the tags "north", "south", "east" and "west", like fences and glass panes, and replaces them with the relative directions "left", "right", "front" and "back". Although this feature is grouped in with the other placeholders, it's used a little bit differently than the others. Instead of putting it in place of a value, you put it in place of the whole attribute and specify the relative directions in the placeholder itself, i.e. %enable_sides:left%. For multiple directions, separate them with the character ';', i.e. %enable_sides:front;back% In the following example, I used the command /betterblock iron_bars[%enable_sides:left;right%] This placeholder can also be used in tandem with other attributes, i.e. cobblestone_wall[%enable_sides:left;front%,up=false] Visualization: Wouldn't it be so much easier to build if you could get a sense of scale first? Wouldn't making beautiful diagonal lines be so much easier if you had a guide? Well, wish no longer! New visualization modes for cuboids and lines have been added! Just type a command, click a couple of blocks and boom, you have yourself a hologram! Commands: /line <show_time> /cuboid <show_time> Argument show_time specifies how long the visualization will be shown for. Usage: First, input the command for the visualization you want. After that, you left click two blocks, a start point, and an endpoint. After both points have been selected, the visualization will show up, and stay for as long as you want. Couldn't be any more simple than that! Example of three lines, connecting at the corners to form a triangle: The cuboid has two modes; full (left) and edge (right). Implemented an update checker: · Posts a message to the console on startup if an update is available. · Notifies all players with OP on join if and when an update is available. · Update checking can be turned off by setting 'check-for-update' to false in the config. Once I get all the early release kinks straightened out, updates will probably get more scarce as I start to implement more advanced features.
