BetterChatFilter is a flexible Minecraft chat moderation plugin designed to keep server chat clean, readable, and well-controlled. It filters profanity, advertising, links, excessive caps, character spam, and repeated messages while also using text normalisation to detect and block leetspeak and other bypass methods.
The plugin is fully configurable through config.yml, allowing server owners to enable or disable individual filters and customize the messages players receive when a rule is triggered. It also includes a fully editable blacklist.yml, giving complete control over blocked words and phrases.
For convenience, BetterChatFilter includes a reload command so configuration changes can be applied instantly without restarting the server. Lightweight and modular, it’s built for servers that want strong chat moderation without sacrificing performance or flexibility.
