Simple jump pads with no configuration

·Plugin

Boing!

Boing! is a simple plugin, providing jump pads with variable heights, with minimal effort involved. Jump pads are created simply by placing a stone pressure plate - the block below the plate denotes the power of the jump pad. There are no commands, no permissions, and no configuration - it's as simple as can be!

Boing! does not modify your world or, indeed, any files at all. The presence of a stone pressure plate above the desired block is enough - this means that worlds containing jump pads will simply work on their own when moved to another server.

Screenshots

This plugin was inspired by an older plugin that was lost to the sands of time. I created this because I still needed that plugin's functionality, in the easy package that it originally came in. There are many other jump pads plugins out there, but they're either too little for me, or too much - if you're the original author of the plugin I was inspired by, please get in touch so I can provide credit!

Requirements

Please note that this plugin is written using Kotlin, and you will therefore need to install KotlinPlugin as well.

Usage

To create a jump pad, simply place a stone pressure plate on one of the blocks given below. No feedback will be given, and there's nothing else to do - just stand, walk or sprint onto the plate and you'll be launched upwards by it. See below for a list of compatible block types, and a rough idea of how high they'll launch you.

  • Coal : 2-3 blocks
  • Redstone : 4-6 blocks
  • Lapis: 7-10 blocks
  • Gold : 10-14 blocks
  • Iron: 12-17 blocks
  • Emerald: 14-20 blocks
  • Diamond: 16-23 blocks

When a jump pad is used, a player will be swiftly launched into the air, and a particle effect is played. This plugin does not negate fall damage - remember to build that into the design of your maps if you need it. What's soaring through the air without a little danger, right?

Support & Ideas

If you require support, or you have any feature requests or ideas, feel free to leave an issue on the GitLab issue tracker . I keep much better track of GitLab, so that's the place to go if you have a problem!
