Ever wanted to make your RPG server feel more immersive?
Playing custom sound effects or even music is a great way to do this. Unfortunately, most plugins don't play sounds as part of their mechanics.
ChatSounds allows you to use regex to play a customizable sound when the player gets a chat message. These sounds can also be provided by a resource pack, they aren't limited to just Minecraft's sounds.
Example: Play combat music when the player is attacked or attacks another player. If you use any kind of combat logging plugin that sends a "You've entered combat" type message, you can add a sound to it as well.
Default config example:
sounds:
player-join-example:
regex: '^(.*)(?:joined the game)$' #Example: https://regex101.com/r/v0umCZ/1
sound: 'entity.itemframe.place'
volume: 1.0
pitch: 1.0
player-leave-example:
regex: '^(.*)(?:left the game)$'
sound: 'entity.itemframe.break'
volume: 1.0
pitch: 1.0
Plays a sound when players join or leave, using the default join/leave messages.
Depends on ProtocolLib!
Note that the regex will ignore color codes.
You can use regex101 for testing your regex strings: https://regex101.com
