Description:

ChristmasMelodies is a lightweight, festive plugin that brings the joy of Christmas music to your Minecraft server. Players can enjoy personal holiday tunes, create custom playlists, and admins can set up automatic music regions that play songs when players enter them. With global music support, pause/skip controls, optional festive particles, full customization, and hot reload, it's perfect for winter events and seasonal spawns.

Commands

1. Player Commands
   • /xm play <song> - Play a Christmas song for yourself
   • /xm shuffle - Start playing all songs in random order for yourself
   • /xm stop - Stop your personal song (does not stop region music)
   • /xm pause - Pause or resume your music
   • /xm skip - Skip to the next song in shuffle or playlist
   • /xm listsongs - List all available songs you can play
   • /xm volume [0-100] - View or change your own song volume
   • /xm playlist create <name> - Create a new playlist
   • /xm playlist add <playlist> <song> - Add a song to a playlist
   • /xm playlist remove <playlist> <song> - Remove a song from a playlist
   • /xm playlist delete <name> - Delete a playlist
   • /xm playlist list - List all your playlists
   • /xm playlist show <name> - Show songs in a playlist
   • /xm playlist play <name> [shuffle] - Play a playlist (add "shuffle" to play in random order)

1. Admin Commands
   • /xm play <song> <player> - Play a song for a specific player
   • /xm play <song> all - Play a song for all players globally
   • /xm shuffle <player> - Start shuffle for a specific player
   • /xm shuffle all - Start shuffle for all players globally
   • /xm stop <player> - Stop a player's personal song
   • /xm stop all - Stop global music for all players
   • /xm region set <song|@playlist> <radius> [loop] [shuffle] - Create a circular music region at your location. Use "loop" and "shuffle" as named arguments (e.g., /xm region set jinglebells 50 loop shuffle)
   • /xm region list - List all created regions with their IDs and details
   • /xm region remove <id> - Remove a region by its unique ID
   • /xm reload - Reload all configuration files without restarting

Permissions

1. xm.use - Allows players to use /xm play, /xm shuffle, /xm stop, /xm pause, /xm skip, /xm listsongs, /xm volume, and /xm playlist commands
2. xm.admin - Grants access to all admin commands (play for players/all, shuffle for players/all, stop for players/all, region management, reload)

Color Scheme

1. Red (&c) - Primary festive accent
2. Green (&a) - Success and informational highlights
3. [White] (&f) - Neutral text and titles

All colors and messages are customizable through messages.yml.

Installation:

1. Download the ChristmasMelodies jar file
2. Download NoteBlockAPI from its resource page
3. Place both JAR files in your server's plugins/ folder
4. Restart your server
5. Add custom .nbs song files to plugins/ChristmasMelodies/songs/

Important: NoteBlockAPI is required for this plugin to work.

Requirements:

1. Server: Spigot/Paper 1.8+
2. Java: 8 or higher
3. Dependency: NoteBlockAPI (must be installed)

Version Compatibility: Automatically adjusts particle effects per server version; works from 1.8 to latest.

Song Files:

1. Place your [.nbs] files in plugins/ChristmasMelodies/songs/
2. Default pack includes 18 classics (e.g., Jingle Bells, Silent Night, Deck the Halls, We Wish You a Merry Christmas)
3. Find more at community sites or convert MIDI using NoteBlock Studio

Tips and Tricks:

1. Use global music (/xm play <song> all) for server-wide events and synchronized experiences
2. Create playlists to organize your favorite songs and use them in regions with @playlistname
3. Use smaller regions for shops and larger ones for spawn areas
4. Combine multiple regions to create a musical journey through your server
5. Personal songs override region music, so players can enjoy their own tunes
6. Use pause to temporarily stop music without losing your place in shuffle/playlists
7. Particle effects can be disabled in config.yml if you prefer performance over visuals
8. Use /xm reload after editing configuration files

Troubleshooting:

Plugin won't enable?

1. Ensure NoteBlockAPI is installed and enabled
2. Check server logs for any error messages
3. Verify you're using a compatible server version (1.8+)
4. Make sure you're running Java 8 or higher

Songs not playing?

1. Confirm the file is in plugins/ChristmasMelodies/songs/
2. Ensure the song file has a .nbs extension
3. Try /xm reload to refresh files

Region music not working?

1. Verify you're within the region radius
2. Check /xm region list to confirm region creation
3. Ensure the song exists in the songs folder (or playlist exists if using @playlistname)
4. Confirm you're in the correct world
