What's New in Version 2.5.0

This update brings several quality-of-life improvements, a major fix for songs with special characters in their titles, and a brand new custom disc texture system that lets you replace the vanilla Minecraft disc icon with your own image. --- ## New Features ### Custom Disc Texture Support (CustomMusicDiscsPack) You can now replace the vanilla Minecraft music disc icon with your own custom image. Every disc generated by the plugin will display your chosen texture in the player's inventory, on the ground when dropped, and in item frames. How to use it: 1. Place your custom texture image (PNG format) in the plugins/CustomMusicDiscsPack/ folder 2. Open plugins/CustomMusicDiscsPack/config.yml and configure the following settings:

 use-custom-texture: true

 custom-texture-file: "disc_texture.png"

 

3. Run /generatepack to rebuild the resource pack with your new texture applied 4. Run /applypack to receive the updated pack, or reconnect to the server if auto-apply is enabled To revert to the vanilla Minecraft disc texture at any time:

 use-custom-texture: false

 

Then run /generatepack again. No server restart or plugin rebuild is required — simply toggle the setting and regenerate the pack. Texture requirements: - Format: PNG only - Recommended size: 16x16 or 32x32 pixels (Minecraft scales textures automatically) - File must be placed in the plugins/CustomMusicDiscsPack/ folder - The filename must match the custom-texture-file value in config.yml exactly > A default disc texture is included with the plugin and is automatically placed in the plugin folder on first startup. You can replace it with any PNG image of your choice. ## Upgrade Instructions Both plugins must be updated together. Follow these steps: 1. Stop your server 2. Remove the old CustomMusicDiscs and CustomMusicDiscsPack JAR files from your plugins/ folder 3. Upload the new CustomMusicDiscs-2.5.0.jar and CustomMusicDiscsPack-2.5.0.jar 4. Start your server — both plugins will update their configurations automatically 5. In-game, run the following commands in order:

 /loadmusic

 /generatepack

 /applypack

 /loadmusic *one more time*

 

6. If you want to use a custom disc texture, place your PNG in plugins/CustomMusicDiscsPack/, update config.yml, and run /generatepack again Your existing drops.yml and config.yml files are preserved. The only new entries added to config.yml are the two custom texture settings, which will need to be added manually if you are keeping your existing config file: yaml use-custom-texture: true
