Dynamic Motd +
1.2A plugin that allows you to have custom motds for new and returning players along with many features
The other day I was bored and was playing around with some things and actually found this to be pretty cool, so today I'm deciding to share my creation here with the spigot community!
Commands:
/dynamicmotd reload : Reloads the config.yml
permission: dynamicmotd.use
Features:
MOTD:
- Different motds for new players
- Different motds for returning players
- Random motd: selects a random motd from a list and sets it as the motd
Server Icons:
- Option for randomized server icons: uses images that you put in the "server-icons" folder, these images must meet the requirements to be a server-icon (64x64 pixels, .png format)
- Option to display an image of the players head as the server icon: You can choose from two different head types, normal and render (These icons are per-player and requires the player to join at least once)
Join Images:
- Option to send a player an image in their chat: You can choose from different image options such as sending an image of their head in chat upon joining. Put images in the "join-images" folder for this to work and enable it in the config.yml. Thanks to bobacadodl for this awesome image library.
Max Players:
-Just for fun, allows you to change the number that appears as maximum players while pinging the server. (This does not actually change the player limit, it just allows you to make it seem as if you have a bigger/smaller player limit)
Config,yml:
config.yml

[COLOR=#404040][LEFT]############################################## #
# Variables For Motd:
# %player% = name of player (in order for this to work, the player must have joined at least once) #

#if at any point you would like this plugin to stop handling the motd, server icon, etc set the value below to false and do /dm reload
plugin-enabled: true
#if true, the plugin will do little to no logging to the console, if false it will output the usual amount of messages
silent-mode: false
#this will be showed to players who have played at least once, to use this random-motd must be false!
returning-player-motd: "&aWelcome back to our server, %player%! \nThis is a test line!"
#this will be showed to new players (this goes with returning-player-motd to use it random-motd must be false)
new-player-motd: "&aWelcome to our server new player! \nThis is a test line!"
#this will change the number of max players (it only changes the number, it has no actual effect). Set to -1 to disable this option.
max-players: -1
#if true, it will select a random motd from the list below, other-wise it will just use the returning-player-motd and new-player-motd options
random-motd: false
#a random message from here will be picked if random motd is true (in order for %player% to work, the player must have played at least once!!)
random-motds:

no-permission-message: "&cSorry %player%, but you don't have sufficient permissions!"
#if player-head-icon is true, which icon type should the plugin use? available types: NORMAL, RENDER
head-icon-type: NORMAL
#if this is true, the plugin will check for player skin updates. if false, it will download the players' files once and not continue checking for updates!
#if you set this to false, you can continue to check for updates at any time by changing it to true
check-for-skin-updates: true
