A powerful Minecraft storage plugin for Paper servers. Store millions of items in a single block, connect them with a wireless mesh network, and access your storage from anywhere inside its mesh. No mods or client installation required; an optional resource pack is offered automatically on join.

Built for Paper servers. Inspired by Applied Energistics 2.

Storage items carry their data in NBT, while placed Server Rack inventories are saved to racks.yml. Automatic backups and scheduled restoration provide an extra recovery option. Build a Server Rack, drop in a Wireless Router or two, mount (or just slap) a terminal on the wall - and your entire base storage becomes one, sortable, hopper-automatable grid.

The Hardware

Enigma Storage is built around a handful of physical blocks you place, link, and grow into a network. Here’s what you get.

Server Rack

Your storage core. Slot in storage cells, add trusted players, and hook up hoppers for fully automated I/O. Each rack projects a mesh zone with a 16-block radius on each axis around itself - the foundation of your network.

Enigma Storage Rack

Wireless Router

Need more reach? Drop a Wireless Router. It extends the mesh with a coverage cube with a 64-block radius on each axis and chains off your existing network - bind it to your rack and place it so its zone overlaps the existing network, and your range grows organically across the base. Link enough of them and scale it across your entire base.

Wireless Router

Wall Terminal

A flush terminal that mounts right on the wall. Walk up, open it, and browse your linked rack's contents in-place - perfect for a clean, panel-lined storage room.

Wall Terminal

Wireless Terminal

The same storage grid, in your hotbar. Bind it with a Link Module and access your Server Rack from anywhere inside the mesh - mine, fight, build, and deposit loot without ever walking home.

Features

Storage

  • 6 storage cell tiers: 1K / 4K / 16K / 64K / 256K / 1M, with configurable capacity limits
  • Sort by name, count, container order, or ID
  • Lock a rack to its owner and add trusted players; locks stay active when the server language changes
  • Hopper I/O with adjustable speed and Speed Upgrades

Automation

  • Feed a sorter input buffer with hoppers and route items to linked racks
  • Breaking a sorter drops its buffered items

Mesh Network

  • Coverage is a real, in-world cube around every node - no abstract “range numbers” to guess
  • Server Racks anchor the network (16-block radius); Wireless Routers extend it (64-block radius)
  • Routers must be linked to a rack and overlap an existing zone to connect
  • Tune both radii in the config (rack-range, router-range)

Terminals

  • Wall Terminal - mounted, in-place access for storage rooms
  • Wireless Terminal - bind with a Link Module and reach your storage from anywhere in the mesh

Custom Recipes

  • Craft Enigma gear at a special workbench (dispenser)
  • Browse every recipe in an in-game recipe book with page navigation
  • Create custom recipes through the recipe editor; deposited ingredients and result items are returned when you close it

Backups & Restore

  • Automatic ZIP backups on startup and every 6 hours by default; keep the latest 3 regular backups
  • Create a backup with /es backup, or browse copies with /es backup list
  • Archives contain racks.yml, RecipeData.yml, and a reference copy of config.yml
  • /es backup restore <name> schedules restoration for the next server start, restoring racks and recipes while leaving the current config unchanged
  • Current data is saved to a separate pre-restore_*.zip before restoration
  • Cancel a pending restore with /es backup cancel
  • Automatic backups skip unchanged data and include a guard against suspicious drops in rack count
  • Backups live in plugins/EnigmaStorage/backups/; these are plugin-data backups, not full world backups

Languages

  • Ships with: ru, en, de, fr, es, pl, cn, ja, hi, ko, ar
  • Drop a .json into languages/ and point the config at it to add your own

WorldGuard integration (optional)

  • Soft-dependency - works fine without it, no errors if WorldGuard isn't installed
  • Blocks placement, break, terminal linking, and storage access inside protected regions
  • Storage access follows the explicit enigma-storage-use flag; when unset, region membership/build checks apply
  • Custom region flag enigma-storage-use for fine-grained per-region control
  • Fails closed by default - a broken WorldGuard check denies access rather than silently letting griefers through

Lands integration (optional)

  • Soft-dependency - works fine without it, no errors if Lands isn't installed
  • Land owners decide who may use the storage system on their claim
  • Custom role flag enigma_storage_use, toggleable per role in the Lands flag menu
  • Falls back to the native INTERACT_CONTAINER flag if the custom flag is unavailable
  • Hopper automation is checked against the rack owner's role, so your own automation
follows the land permissions of the rack owner
  • Fails closed by default, same as the WorldGuard integration
  • With both plugins installed, an action needs approval from both - enabling Lands
can never weaken an existing WorldGuard setup

Installation

  1. Drop EnigmaStorage.jar into plugins/.
  2. Start the server.
  3. Tweak plugins/EnigmaStorage/config.yml to taste.

The optional resource pack is offered on join when loadresourcepack is enabled. If a player declines it or the download fails, resourcepackmessage controls the fallback message and download link.

Commands

All commands use /es - aliases /enigmastorage and /dsu work too.
