✨ New Features Minecraft 26.2 Support EvenMoreFish Integration — Fish Rework now optionally integrates with EvenMoreFish. Tagged EvenMoreFish rods are handled by EvenMoreFish, while normal fishing rods continue to use Fish Rework’s fishing system. Automatic EMF Setup — When enabled, Fish Rework can automatically turn on EvenMoreFish’s custom-rod requirement, create a backup of its original config, and reload EMF. This behavior can be disabled or managed manually through integrations.even_more_fish. Craftable EvenMoreFish Rod — Players can craft EvenMoreFish’s default rod using a regular Fishing Rod and a Nautilus Shell. The recipe, rod ID, ingredient amount, and automatic recipe discovery are configurable. PlaceholderAPI Support — Fish Rework now includes its own PlaceholderAPI expansion under the fishrework identifier. It provides placeholders for fishing progression, catches, treasures, currency, collections, artifacts, active bait, heat, equipment bonuses, and session stats. Offline Player Placeholders — Many persistent placeholders can now work for offline players too, including fishing level, XP, lifetime catches, artifacts, encyclopedia progress, and internal balance. Vendor Item Blacklist — Server owners can now use economy.disabled_vendor_items to prevent selected vanilla materials, pottery sherds, or custom items from being sold to the vendor.

    Changes & Improvements

Multiple Loaded Languages — The old single locale option has been replaced with a languages list. The first entry is the default language, while additional language files can be loaded for player-specific localization. Existing configs are migrated automatically. Console Reload Support — /fishing reload can now be run from the server console, provided the sender has fishrework.reload or fishrework.admin. Safer Reloading — Reloading Fish Rework now closes active Fish Rework menus, preventing players from interacting with stale GUI inventories after configuration changes. Reloading also no longer restores deleted default price entries, making shop-price tuning safer. Improved Compatibility Messaging — EvenMoreFish is no longer shown as a conflicting fishing plugin when the optional integration is active. Other fishing plugins remain experimental and unsupported alongside Fish Rework. Hidden Realms Bait Update — Hidden Realms Bait and the Hidden Realms biome advancement now include Sulfur Caves alongside Lush Caves, Mushroom Fields, Deep Dark, and Pale Garden.

    Bug Fixes

Anvil Repair Cost Fix — Custom enchantment and anvil handling now uses the inventory view repair-cost API, improving compatibility with Paper 26.2. Slime Split Compatibility Fix — The fished-mob split handler now safely ignores non-slime cube mobs that can trigger the updated split event in Minecraft 26.2. Upgrade Recipe Fix — Fixed the multishot_volley_4 recipe using a duplicate ingredient key, which could cause the recipe to resolve incorrectly. Vendor Blacklist Enforcement — Disabled vendor items are now consistently blocked from vanilla-material, pottery-sherd wildcard, and custom-item selling paths. Language Handling Cleanup — Locale aliases such as english, spanish, and chinese are normalized consistently, and only explicitly configured language files are treated as available.

    Plugin Localization Guide

To fully translate this plugin into a new language (for example, Chinese zh or Spanish es), follow this step-by-step guide.
Step 1: Set the Locale in Config
Open the main config.yml file for the plugin and define the locale string you want to use. Add this property at the root level:
    locale: "zh"
Step 2: Create the Language File
The plugin automatically extracts a default lang_en.yml file when the server starts. 1. Navigate to the plugin's configuration folder (e.g., plugins/BabyPets/ or plugins/FishRework/). 2. Make a duplicate of the existing lang_en.yml file. 3. Rename the copy to match the locale you set in Step 1 (e.g., rename to lang_zh.yml).
Step 3: Translate the System Text (The New File)
Open your newly created language file (lang_zh.yml) and translate the values on the right side of the colon. Example Original:
    gui.leftclick_to_select: "Left-click to select"
    Example Translated:
    gui.leftclick_to_select: "左键点击选择"
