Guardian Anti-VPN utilizes the robust ProxyCheck API to analyze every IP connection to your server. It cross-references incoming IPs against a constantly updating database to detect VPN usage, proxy servers, and histories of fraudulent activity.

Usage & API Limits

The plugin comes out of the box with a default API key that supports 500 daily queries.

For larger servers needing more queries, setup is incredibly easy:

1. Head over to proxycheck.io and create a free account.
2. Generate your personal API key (which grants 1,000 queries/daily).
3. Paste your new API key into the config.yml of Guardian Anti-VPN.

Note: 1,000 daily queries is typically more than enough for small to medium-sized servers. If your server is larger or actively under a massive bot attack, you can easily upgrade your plan on proxycheck.io to receive a higher daily query allowance.
