About

HopperLimiter is a lightweight server plugin that limits how many hoppers can be placed in each chunk. It combines a global chunk limit with persistent per-player ownership limits, helping server owners control hopper-heavy builds without expensive full-chunk scans.

If a player has multiple tier permissions, the highest available limit is used. Set default-personal-limit to -1 to disable the default personal limit.

Permissions

• hopperlimiter.personal.10 — 10 owned hoppers per chunk
• hopperlimiter.personal.20 — 20 owned hoppers per chunk
• hopperlimiter.personal.50 — 50 owned hoppers per chunk
• hopperlimiter.personal.unlimited — bypasses the personal limit only
• hopperlimiter.bypass — bypasses both limits (default: OP)

Persistent ownership

Every newly placed hopper stores its owner's UUID directly in persistent block data. Ownership survives restarts and chunk unloading without a database.

Important: hoppers placed before installing HopperLimiter have no owner. They still count toward the global chunk limit, but not toward a player's personal limit.

Installation

1. Download the plugin JAR.
2. Place it in the server's plugins directory.
3. Restart the server.
4. Edit plugins/HopperLimiter/config.yml and restart if required.
