  2. 1.3Final UpdateJul 27, 2026
ImmersivePortal v1.3 — Final Update ImmersivePortal is now 100% complete and optimized. The view through portals now maintains a stable environment: blocks no longer "breathe" or shift when walking, the floor stays completely flush, and portals correctly retain their size when crossing between dimensions. Additionally, all intervention in the player's destination has been removed. Vanilla now completely decides which portal to send you to and how to apply coordinate ratios; the plugin simply renders a visual projection of what exists on the other side. Performance has seen a massive improvement thanks to optimized chunk and remote scene captures, batch updates, and a more stable rendering engine. This prevents visual portal closures, unexpected walls, and excessive load when looking through portals for extended periods. Full Compatibility · Paper: Fast batch-change processing and asynchronous operations. · Folia: Safe region-based tasks, retry mechanisms for newly created portals, and proper alignment. · Spigot: Native fallback for block changes, chunks, and teleports without triggering Paper-specific method errors. The Result: Visual portals that are stable, smooth, aligned, and compatible across all three server platforms.

  4. 1.1Connected DimensionsJul 15, 2026
ImmersivePortals 1.1 — Connected Dimensions This update improves the plugin’s performance, stability, and visual experience. Main Improvements · Improved overall performance, especially on Folia servers. · Optimized the packet technique used to display the area behind portals. · The portal’s first activation animation now plays correctly. · The visible room behind the portal is now slightly smaller to guarantee better performance and safer packet handling. · Entities visible through portals no longer flicker and now remain stable. · Added a preview for the End portal. It does not represent the exact destination, but it helps create a more immersive transition. · When entering the End, you will no longer appear on a floating block. You will now fall from the sky toward the main island. · Fall damage is prevented during this transition in Survival mode. Vertically Connected Dimensions The three dimensions can now be connected in a more natural and immersive way: · Overworld → Nether: Small openings can appear in the bedrock at the deepest parts of Overworld caves. Falling through them will take you to the Nether. · Nether → Overworld: When reaching the top of the Nether, you may find openings that will transport you to a deep cave in the Overworld. · End → Overworld: If you fall deep enough into the End void, you will appear high in the Overworld sky, at approximately Y 300. This makes the End, Overworld, and Nether feel like parts of one connected world. ⚠️ Important Warning Vertical transitions and bedrock holes are disabled by default. dimension-stacking: enabled: false holes: enabled: false When enabling: holes: enabled: true the plugin will permanently remove real bedrock blocks to create the openings between dimensions. These blocks will not be restored automatically when the option is disabled. It is strongly recommended to create a backup of your world before testing this feature. Final Note ImmersivePortals has been a huge experiment. Unfortunately, we have nearly reached the limit of what can be achieved using only a server-side vanilla plugin when trying to display another dimension like the original mod does. I hope this plugin is useful for your server. If you find any bugs or unexpected behavior, please report them through GitHub or the Spigot page.
