Jails
The middle ground between a warning and a ban.
A player keeps spamming chat after three warnings. A ban feels like too much, and a kick just means they rejoin ten seconds later. Jails gives your staff the step in between. Tempjail them for 30 minutes and they come back when it's over, hopefully a bit quieter.
It's free. It also works well on prison and roleplay servers, where guards jail players as part of the game.
Players escaping your jail? Jails+ adds escape zones, a teleport lock, an offline timer pause and IP jail. See the comparison below.
Features
- Set as many jails as you want, wherever you're standing.
- Jail permanently or tempjail. The reason and the staff member who did it are saved.
- Check how long a player has left with /jails duration.
- Handcuffs slow the player down and stop them using items, building or fighting.
- Stop prisoners from breaking or placing blocks, attacking, riding horses or boats, throwing ender pearls or chatting. Turn each rule on or off.
- /spawn, /home, /tpa, /warp and /rtp are blocked by default, and you can add more.
- PlaceholderAPI placeholders for time left, jail name, reason and prisoner counts.
- 7 languages.
Commands
- /jails setjail <name> creates a jail where you stand.
- /jails jail <player> <jail> [reason] jails someone permanently.
- /jails tempjail <player> <jail> <time> [reason] jails someone for a set time.
- /jails unjail <player> releases a player.
- /jails duration [player] shows how long they have left.
- /jails handcuff <player> and /jails unhandcuff <player> put handcuffs on and take them off.
- /jails jailslist opens a menu of your jails.
You can type /j instead of /jails. Permissions are in the documentation.
Jails or Jails+?
Free Jails handles timeouts. It doesn't stop a determined player. Pearling over the wall, getting teleported out by another plugin, logging off until the timer runs out, and coming back on an alt all still work.
Jails+ stops each of those, and adds tools for staff.
- Escape zones. Anyone who walks out gets killed, teleported back, banned or released.
- Teleport lock. Free Jails blocks teleport commands. Jails+ also cancels teleports from other plugins, or blocks every command you don't allow.
- Offline timer pause. Logging off doesn't count as time served, and an AFK check catches idlers.
- IP jail. Jails every account on the player's IP, including alts that join later.
- Bail through Vault, with a payment menu.
- A prisoner list menu showing who's jailed, why and for how long.
- A Discord bot that posts every jail, release and sentence change.
- Cells, jail kits, an on-screen timer, prison skins, voice chat mute and custom release locations.
FAQ
Does the timer run while they're offline? Yes. In the free version it always does. Jails+ lets you pause it.
How is this different from EssentialsX /jail? Jails adds timed sentences with reasons, handcuffs, separate rules for each action, a menu and placeholders.
Are handcuffs paid-only? No.
Runs on 1.21 to 26.2. PlaceholderAPI is optional. Support is on the Falcona Discord. If players start getting out, Jails+ is the upgrade.
