NoLag Ultimate 21.6.1

NoLag Ultimate is an open-source Minecraft server optimization and protection plugin that brings performance monitoring, memory maintenance, entity management, and targeted lag-prevention systems into one configurable package. It helps server administrators monitor performance and manage resource-intensive gameplay patterns without relying on periodic item removal alone.

Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor server TPS, MSPT, memory statistics, loaded chunks, and entity counts where available.
  • Use the in-game dashboard and Performance Impact Analyzer to review activity involving chunks, entities, redstone, hoppers, fluids, physics, TNT, cleanup, and memory.
  • Access diagnostics and server statistics through the /nolag command suite.

These tools help investigate performance issues but do not replace a complete profiler or guarantee a fixed TPS.

Lag-Machine & Fluid-Flood Protection

NoLag provides configurable safeguards against suspicious redstone activity and fluid-based lag machines. Detection can consider repeated redstone updates, rapid fluid-source placement, dense fluid propagation, dispenser activity, piston activity, and related signals.

Depending on the detected pattern and configuration, the plugin can suppress selected redstone transitions or cancel fluid-related activity. The goal is to target suspicious behavior rather than indiscriminately disable normal redstone and fluid mechanics.

Important: Some fluid-flood settings can remove selected machine components. Review config.yml and test the configuration on a staging server before using it with complex redstone builds or flying machines.

Entity, Item & Gameplay Optimization

  • Entity management: Configurable AI throttling for eligible entities under performance pressure, alongside a separate per-player entity-visibility system.
  • Mob & item stacking: Group eligible nearby mobs and merge compatible dropped items to reduce the number of individual entities being managed.
  • Cleanup & item expiry: Incremental cleanup, configurable dropped-item lifetimes, manual cleanup commands, and protected-entity exclusions.
  • Additional safeguards: Configurable TNT and explosion controls, hopper throttling at low TPS, selected physics restrictions, Nether chunk-traversal protection, and command filtering.

These systems can affect gameplay and automation. Tune their thresholds and exemptions to suit your server's farms, redstone machines, plugins, and gameplay requirements.

RamFixer & Chunk Optimization

RamFixer provides heap-pressure monitoring and incremental maintenance routines, including selected cache cleanup, eligible dropped-item cleanup, and checks for chunks that meet configured unloading safeguards. Manual sweeps can report before-and-after measurements, but actual memory reclamation depends on the JVM and the server's current state.

The adaptive chunk optimizer can adjust configured view and simulation distances and perform incremental chunk maintenance. It is disabled by default in the supplied configuration. Review its settings before enabling it, since distance changes can affect gameplay and the world content players see or simulate.

Commands & Compatibility

Main command: /nolag (aliases: /nl, /lag, /antilag).

Available subcommands include tps, stats, performance, dashboard, ramfix, cleanup, items, reload, and version. Administrative actions use the corresponding nolag.* permissions.

NoLag targets Paper and related Bukkit-based server software, with a platform-aware Folia path. Feature availability can vary by platform, and some operations that require unsafe global access are unavailable in Folia-safe mode. Check compatibility information and test the features you need on your exact server version.

NoLag Ultimate is released under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 (MPL-2.0). Back up important worlds and review plugins/NoLag/config.yml before deploying the plugin on a production server.
