ServerChangelogs
1.2.1Keep players up-to-date on server changes using intuitive, dialog-based UIs!
1.2.1latestServerChangelogs v1.2.1Sep 17, 2026 This is a small patch release to address some issues with PacketEvents and the way command permissions work.Updated Features
- The/sclcommand will no longer return version information about the plugin when executed with no additional arguments - Instead, this functionality has been moved to a separate/scl infocommand, with its own permission - This also means that theserver_changelogs.commandpermission is no longer required to execute any command (also I had that permission completely wrong in the description, whoops!) - Added a temporary fix for [an issue in PacketEvents](https://github.com/retrooper/packetevents/issues/1569) that would kick players upon seeing changelogs, which could prevent them from joining in versions below 26.1Technical Changes
- Removed the permission requirement from the root/sclcommand and added a newserver_changelogs.command.infopermission for the new sub-command - Implemented a workaround for the PE issue mentioned above, by attaching dummy component data to the item dialog body - This workaround will automatically activate on affected versions, but can be manually activated if needed - Added a new config optionenable_manual_workaroundsto force-enable workarounds like this one - You can force-activate this workaround by setting the option to["INVALID_ITEM_BODY_ENCODING"]Full Changelog: https://github.com/codingcat2468/ServerChangelogs/compare…1.2.0ServerChangelogs v1.2.0Aug 23, 2026 This release includes a lot of new and improved features relating to changelog editing, and finally introduces support for Velocity!IMPORTANT NOTE: Updating an existing installation to this version will require to to fully delete/re-create your language files, due to a lot of changes and restructuring. After re-creating, you can apply any changes you might've had again! You can get the default
en_USlanguage file from [here](https://github.com/codingcat2468/ServerChangelogs/blob/ma…New Features
- Added the ability to show changelog dialogs during the configuration phase (before the player joins the world) - Finalized the design of the changelog creation/editing UI: - Individual lines can now be edited and removed after being added - The editor can now also be used to edit existing changelogs (see below) - Closing the editor will now prompt the user to confirm they want to discard their changes - Editor sessions can now be saved for later when closing the UI (unless the server restarts) - The main changelog UI now has buttons to edit/delete each changelog for administrators - Fixed Folia compatibility (it was technically compatible already, just not marked as such) - Added full support for the Velocity platform \(read more in the details below)"Technical" / Detailed Changes
- Added a new configuration optiondialog_phase, which specifies whether dialogs should be shown during thePLAYorCONFIGURATIONphase - The default for new installations will beCONFIGURATION- This setting won't appear in your file automatically for now, so you'll have to add it yourself. - In case you want the full explanation of the options, you can take a look at the [default config file](https://github.com/codingcat2468/ServerChangelogs/blob/ma… - Added a newserver_changelogs.managepermission that will show edit/delete buttons for every changelog in the regular list UI - Implemented the Velocity platform fully, excluding a few tiny details: - Players who join the server for the first time will also see changelogs (unlike on paper); since velocity doesn't store this information anywhere, a rework of that system or a separate implementation would be required - Items for the changelog dialog header don't support custom components yet (again, velocity does not have any built-in parsing for those) Full Changelog: https://github.com/codingcat2468/ServerChangelogs/compare…1.1.0ServerChangelogs v1.1.0Aug 1, 2026 This release introduces a lot of under-the-hood changes to the way that the plugin works, mostly to make it more compatible with non-bukkit platforms for the future! If I didn't just release this plugin, I'd probably even have released this as av2.0.0.New Features
- A new, fully platform-independent internal API has been introduced. This can (and will) be used to expand platform support in the upcoming releases! - The changelog creation UI has been completely reworked to be less cluttered and more intuitive; changelogs are now created line-by-line, with "live" previews for each of them! - Added a fallback permission mode that will resolve command permissions depending on the "native" admin state of a player, depending on the platform (e.g. on paper, this would base permissions on the vanilla OP system) - Added new custom MiniMessage tags for the name & version of the current platform (e.g. Paper) for all plugin translationsTechnical Changes
- Switched from the paper dialog API to [PacketEvents](https://github.com/retrooper/packetevents) - Introduced a newplatformapisubmodule with dependencies on only [Adventure ](https://github.com/PaperMC/adventure) and [Brigadier](https://github.com/Mojang/brigadier) - Moved all of the previous plugin code to thebasesubmodule and reworked it to useplatformapiinstead of Paper APIs - Implemented all of theplatformapiinfrastruce for the Paper platformand now I need to fix my sleep schedule again, because I decided to work on this instead for several hours
