5.3.3Turn your Spigot/Paper server into a modpack - 500+ items, recipes, machines, magic & tech
5.3.3latestSlimefun 5.3.3Aug 23, 2026 118 commits since v5.3.2. The headline work is a rebuilt guide: every addon now gets exactly one menu, items are filed into shared categories, and the guide can tell you where to find something. Alongside that, a long-standing translation bug that made whole families of items show their raw id is fixed, and cargo networks got substantially faster. Highlights · Every addon gets one guide menu. An addon's top-level groups are folded into a single entry named after the addon and iconed from the installer catalog, so the main menu no longer fills up with one addon's sections. Addons can shape their own menu via Slimefun.getAddonMenus().declareRoot(..); those that don't get one built for them, including third-party addons. · Info widgets belong to a menu. A GuideWidget can now be attached to an addon's menu instead of the guide's main menu, and appears in the categorized layout only when it declares a category. Replaces the pattern of shipping "info" pseudo-items that sat among real, craftable items. · Addons can ship in-game wiki pages. Core reads wiki/topics.yml, wiki/mechanics.yml and per-language overrides from every installed addon automatically. Browse by Addon now offers a choice between an addon's items and its wiki. SlimeTinker, Networks, InfinityExpansion and ExoticGarden ship guides. · The guide tells you where an item is. Search results and locked recipe ingredients now name the route and page to reach an item, following whichever layout you're using. A locked ingredient can be unlocked by clicking it, instead of hunting down its group first. · Item families no longer show their raw id. The English baseline recorded an exact entry per item using its template's display name, which under the id-only rule is the id, and exact entries beat %MOB% family templates. That pinned the raw id on every family-covered item: SoulJars' per-mob jars, FoxyMachines' per-material ghost blocks. No item can display a raw id any more. · Cargo networks are much faster. Reflective compatibility handles are resolved once instead of on every call (measured ~1900ns to ~60ns per persistent-data read), and an item's meta is built once per wrap rather than twice. Both sit under every item comparison, so the win is not limited to cargo. · Machines no longer duplicate their contents. Breaking a machine left its stored inventory in the database, so the next block placed on the spot inherited it and the contents could be collected twice. Deletion now goes through the active storage backend; moving a machine persists correctly too. · Items are filed into real categories. Twelve addons now declare a category per item group, and a group's category covers every item in it. Far fewer addon items fall into Misc. · Variants share a slot. Items with variants (colours, tiers) show as one cycling slot rather than flooding a category, with a dedicated picker for cheating one in. · Multiblocks assemble themselves. Placing a multiblock's item builds and verifies the structure, ownership is assigned automatically so redstone auto-crafting works everywhere, and the assembler handles cells that forbid block placers. · Player data moved to the database backend. Researches, backpacks and waypoints now follow the configured storage backend alongside block data. · /sf metrics reports what is actually happening. It says whether the metrics module is running and why if not, lists every addon with whether its metrics reach bStats, and prints the live data being sent, including the standard fields bStats attaches. Fixes · Recipe encoder blueprints could be created but never executed: the auto crafter's vanilla-recipe lookup was stubbed out during the Java 8 port, so every vanilla blueprint was rejected. · Category icons built from a SlimefunItemStack rendered as their raw id (DUMMY_ID, GCE_ICON, FM_FAST_MACHINES) or, with no name at all, as their raw material. · Addon icons in the wiki's addon list collapsed to default Steve heads, because the icon was rebuilt from its material and lost the skull texture. · The installer showed a nether star for every addon after a refactor dropped the per-addon icon map. · A click-flood packet storm could crash a menu; inventory click rate is now capped. · Enhanced furnace speed boosts and auto-crafter recipe choices were lost on 26.x because live tile states were not updated. · Backpack ids are stored in persistent data, and repaired spawners keep their mob type by reading it from NBT. · Machine GUI titles are translated per viewer and coloured from their header item, rather than being retitled a tick late. · Charge and durability values render live into packet lore instead of being baked onto stored items. · Wiki links point at the correct lowercase site path, derived per item from the template. · Copper chests work as cargo storage blocks. · The coverage audit no longer reports family-covered or resolver-rendered items as untranslated. Notes for addon developers · Give an item group a category with ItemGroup#setCategory(String). One call covers every item in that group. · Attach an info screen to your menu with the GuideWidget constructor taking an addon and a category. · Ship wiki/topics.yml and wiki/mechanics.yml in your jar and core will pick them up; no registration call needed. · Build category icons with CustomItemStack, not SlimefunItemStack - the latter always overwrites the display name with the item id. · Boot lints now report item groups with a placeholder or missing label, and addons whose items fall back to Misc.5.3.1.1Pre-release 5.3.1.1Jul 18, 2026 Pre-release for 5.3.2, fixes a bunch of bugs and adds minor features.5.3.0.1Database Storage (H2/MySQL) & Per-Player TranslationsJul 13, 2026 Highlights · Database storage — block, machine and chunk data can now live in a real database instead of flat files. H2 (embedded, zero-setup) is the new default and is far better suited to large/busy servers; MySQL is supported for networks that want a shared/external database (storage.backend: mysql + a storage.mysql block). Existing servers auto-migrate their flat-file data on first boot, keeping a .migrated-backup- copy, and the migration aborts safely without touching your files if anything goes wrong. Set storage.backend: legacy to stay on flat files. · Per-player translations — items are translated per viewer via packets, so every player sees names and lore in their own language with no change to the stored item. A new Automatic language option (now the default) follows each player's Minecraft client language and falls back to the server default when a language isn't available. · Full German translation — items, enchantments and the guide UI are fully translated to German, with honest per-language coverage percentages in the language menu and per-language wiki content. · Documented config — every option in config.yml now carries an inline comment explaining what it does and its allowed values. Fixes · Storage concurrency — fixed a chunk/inventory map race that could cause lag, corruption or hangs on busy servers during auto-save. · Item duplication — closed several dupe races: menu double-click / drag into protected slots, async machine ticking while a machine is open, and the nuclear reactor's fuel/coolant/byproduct moves. · Legacy item identity — custom-item data now persists via real item NBT on 1.8–1.13, fixing backpacks losing their contents/identity and vanilla-stacking; also fixed core item registration aborting from the cargo nodes onward on those versions. · Display & guide — multiblock/machine output items now show their proper name and lore in the slot, recipe-grid items in the guide are translated, and the guide shows the live addon version (plus a short commit hash on dev builds). · Cross-version — various packet-translation fixes for 1.21+/26.x, including a 26.2 item-display regression, and the in-game addon installer now updates addons under Paper's remapped plugin folder. Infrastructure · Runtime-loaded storage drivers — the H2/MySQL JDBC drivers are no longer bundled in the jar (which had grown too large for some publishing platforms); they load from the classpath if present, else download once into plugins/Slimefun/libraries/, keeping the download at ~3.3 MB. If a driver can't be obtained, storage falls back to flat files for that boot and logs why.5.2.5Large bug fix and clean up.Jul 8, 2026 · Unified item lore — every functional item now renders one consistent lore layout: ordered Type / Description / Stats / Usage blocks, blank-line separated, composed per-player and fully localized. · Item balance rating — an effort-aware power score per item and per addon (shown in the addon installer). It weighs an item's strength against how hard it is to obtain, so grind-gated end-game gear reads as balanced, not overpowered. · Item descriptions — an optional short description per item, with a per-player toggle to show or hide it. · Wiki — browse by addon — the in-game wiki gains an addon filter; every addon that adds items is now reachable down to per-item pages, derived automatically from the registry (no manual registration needed). · Migration tooling — /sf migrationcheck [player] (admin-only) scans an inventory for Slimefun items whose id no longer resolves (missing addon or renamed item), plus headless boot-time checks that verify items from older Slimefun 4/5 servers still resolve on this build. · Installer polish — the version and branch menus open instantly with a loading frame and fill in as data arrives; you can downgrade to any released version; and the update button is disabled when already on the latest. · Backpack data-safety — backpack identity moved to persistent data (fixing old backpacks duplicating/glitching) with the raw ID line hidden from lore; backpacks and items from older Slimefun 4/5 worlds transfer cleanly. · Quality-of-life — raw ores are crushable (no Silk Touch needed on newer Minecraft versions), and the console shows a clear warning when launched on an experimental / poorly-supported version.5.2.4Massive Slimefun GUI rework!Jul 1, 2026 · In-game Addon Installer — browse, install, update and even build addons from a git branch, all from the guide; dependency resolution, per-addon detail pages, install-state persistence and auto update-checks. · In-game Wiki — per-item pages (explanation, stats, "used in" via a cached reverse-recipe index), teaching-led topic guides, and auto-generated overview pages per installed addon (plus a public topic-registration API). · Multi-language item translations — per-player/per-language item translation service with a server-default baked into physical items; full German coverage and de/fr/es/it/pt-BR/ru/zh-CN/pl/nl across core items and all 155 block-menu presets, with an in-guide coverage audit. · Guide themes & addon visibility — themed top-level groups, an optional theme id on ItemGroups, per-player addon visibility, and hidden addons excluded from search. · Multiblock crafting upgrades — redstone auto-crafting for dispenser crafting tables, lockable slots via a Slot Lock marker, output dropped (vanilla dispenser-style, with sound) when the dispenser is full instead of failing, and recipes now accept any wood variant. · Rune Anvil rework — a proper GUI machine replacing drop-based rune binding, gated behind research, with craft-on-take. · In-game admin config editor — /sf config (and a guide button) to edit the server config from a chest GUI, with per-button settings toggles. · In-game bug reporting — build and submit a bug report from within the game via a Discord relay, tagged Server Owner vs Player. · Discord & external links — Discord promotion in the guide and a toggle to gate all external-website links. · Cross-version / 26.x fixes — sounds now resolve on 1.21.3+/26.x (where XSeries could no longer initialise), the XSeries version patch is enforced (never ships unpatched), bundled-core classes are stripped to avoid LinkageErrors on 26.2, and legacy-incompatible listeners are version-gated.5.2.1Added experimental support for legacy versions 1.8.8-1.15.2Jun 14, 2026 Slimefun5 now supports all versions from 1.8.8 to 26.1.25.0.3Apr 12, 2026
