If you want to learn a new language or just use JavaScript this Plugin is the best Choice!

SpigotJS allows you to write scripts in JavaScript (Not Node.JS).
How? Well, its pretty simple.
After you installed the Plugin, there will be a folder called "jsmodules", where you can put your Resources in.
Then, create a directory with the name you want. For example "MyModule"
In this directory, create a file called resource.json
Insert following Code:

{
   "main": "script.js",
   "version": "1.0.0",
   "author": "SomeRandomDev"
}

Then, create a file called "script.js"
Now, you can start coding!

An Example:

onEvent("playerJoin", function(event) {
  event.joinMessage = null
});

onEvent("playerQuit", function(event) {
  event.quitMessage = null
});

onCommand("ping", function(command) {
    command.getSender().sendMessage("Pong")
});
