  1. 1.2.0latest1.2.0 - golem chatterSep 24, 2026

1.2.0 — The golems have something to say

Golems now talk to themselves while they work, about whatever they're actually doing. - They react to real moments: setting off with a load, finishing a delivery or harvest, a full drop-off, a broken route, getting stuck, a Collector skipping filtered produce, idling too long, and their owner walking up. - Four personalities: Grumbler, Sunny, Bard and Deadpan, fixed for life by each golem's identity. Nothing to configure, nothing stored. "Done. Nobody clapped. Noted." · "Can I do that again? Please?" · "Chapter Six: There Was No Room." · "Boss. I've missed you a normal amount." - Every line is yours to edit. chatter.yml ships about 290 lines, keyed by moment, job and personality. Rewrite them or add your own. - Chatter stays occasional. Each golem has a cooldown and chance roll, gets bored slowly, won't talk over a reply, and speaks only when someone can read it. Tune it under chatter: in config.yml: enabled: true, cooldown-seconds: 20, chance: 0.35, idle-every-seconds: 60. - Every bubble looks like a name tag now: white with a shadow, no dark panel, slightly larger. New keys: feedback.speech-scale: 1.25, feedback.speech-background: false, feedback.speech-rise: 0.75. feedback.speech: false turns it all off; feedback.intensity: off silences chatter. Upgrading: - chatter.yml is created on first boot. - messages.yml is never overwritten, so replies stay gray until you delete or merge that file. - No migration: golems keep their jobs and routes. - Still Java 21 bytecode. Tested live on Purpur 26.1.2, built against the Paper 26.2 API.

  2. 1.1.21.1.2 — Current for 26.2Aug 30, 2026
Compatibility release — no gameplay changes. - Recompiled against the current Paper 26.2 API (io.papermc.paper:paper-api:26.2.build.121-stable, now that Paper has retired the old -R0.1-SNAPSHOT coordinate scheme). - Boot-tested on Paper 26.2 build 121 — clean load, enable and disable, no errors. - Still emits Java 21 bytecode, so servers back to 1.21 keep running it unchanged. Nothing to do on your end beyond dropping in the new jar.

  3. 1.1.11.1.1 — The golems speakJul 17, 2026

1.1.1 — Routine upkeep: the golems find their voice

The copper folk now speak for themselves. Assign a job, set a route, toggle follow, or check in on a golem, and its reply appears in a speech bubble above its head instead of the action bar. - Every golem line rewritten in one warm first-person voice — "Courier's the job. Show me the pickup." · "Route learned: Chest › Barrel. On it, boss." · "You're not my boss." - Bubbles ride the golem, last a few seconds, and are never written to the world save — no leftover entities, even through a crash. - If a golem is too far away (or in another world) to read, its line falls back to the action bar, so error hints are never lost. Bubbles vanish instantly if the golem dies or is captured. - New in config.yml under feedback: — speech: true (set false to keep everything on the action bar like before) and speech-hold-seconds: 4. - System text (whistle, filter menu, admin commands, item lore) stays right where it was. Upgrading: your existing messages.yml is kept as-is, so golems will speak your old copy in their new bubbles. Merge the new lines — or delete messages.yml to regenerate — for the full voice pass. Part of routine upkeep: small, steady updates to keep the copper folk sharp. Verified on Paper 26.2 / 26.1.x / 1.21.x.

  4. 1.1.01.1.0 — The CollectorJul 11, 2026

    1.1.0 — The Collector

A seventh job joins the crew. Hand a golem a Collector Work Order (bundle centerpiece), tap a chest as its bank, and it gathers everything "ready to collect" around it: - Ripe produce — sweet berries, glow berries, cocoa, melons & pumpkins (only fruit grown by an attached stem, so decorative builds are safe), amethyst clusters (only on budding amethyst), sugar cane, cactus, bamboo. - Furnace output — during the bind, tap furnaces / smokers / blast furnaces to enrol them; the golem drains their result slots into the bank. It never touches a furnace you didn't tap. - Ground sweep — reclaims its own families' drops (bamboo pops, harvest overflow). - The 9-slot filter (sneak + matching Work Order) picks which products it collects — naming the block or the item both work (MELON counts as melon slices). - Per-family toggles, scan radius, and vertical range under collector: in config.yml. Every harvest is loot-table or real-slot based — nothing is minted, nothing voided, and no block a player placed is ever broken. Also in this release (all jobs): - Re-tasking a golem mid-haul now drops its cargo instead of destroying it. - The anti-dupe hand-wipe now drops instead of deleting held items (protects real items under suppress-native-sort: off). - Golems wake when a player is near their Sorter destinations or enrolled workstations, not just the source/dest. - Work Order items render proper names even if your messages.yml predates this version (new keys carry baked-in fallbacks — merge the new keys, or delete messages.yml to regenerate, for the fully styled copy). Admin notes: - New permission node: workorders.job.collector (default true). - collector.families.bamboo requires collector.sweep-produce (auto-disabled with a console warning otherwise). - Furnace draining requires physically tapping each furnace during the bind session — the radius scan never opens containers, so there is no way to drain a furnace nobody consented to.

  5. 1.0.4Work Orders 1.0.4Jun 2, 2026

    [1.0.4] — 2026-06-02

    Fixed
    - Job tools no longer duplicate into chests. Assigning a job put a copy of the job's tool (the brush, hopper, furnace, etc.) into the golem's hand as a cosmetic. That hand item was a real item the vanilla copper-golem brain would ferry off into a copper chest — minting a duplicate every time. The job is shown by the golem's floating nameplate, so the held tool was redundant: it's been removed entirely. Golems keep their hand empty unless they're actively carrying cargo, and any tool left in a golem's hand from a previous version is swept out automatically.
