PlayerLore
Description
This open source plugin is intended to allow players to add lore to their items in Minecraft.
Installation
- Download the jar from this page (the download button links to the stable release on GitHub), or run /dpm get playerlore with Dan's Plugin Manager.
- Place the jar in your server's plugins folder.
- Restart the server.
Supported versions
Every stable release is started on a real Spigot 26.2 server by the release gate before it is published: it must enable cleanly, register every command, stop cleanly and start a second time on the data it wrote. Release 2.0.0 passed that gate on 2026-09-19.
Release channels
This page mirrors the stable channel: the latest non-prerelease GitHub release. A dev pre-release built from every push to the default branch is available on GitHub for testing ( /dpm get --experimental). Details: Release channels.

Usage reporting
PlayerLore reports its usage by default: when the plugin is enabled, and each time one of its commands is used, it sends its name, its version and the command's name to https://trace.danielstephenson.dev, so it is known which plugins are actually in use. Nothing about players, worlds, IP addresses or the server is sent, and neither is anything typed after a command.
To turn it off:
- for this plugin only: set usage-reporting.enabled: false in plugins/PlayerLore/config.yml;
- for every plugin on the server that reports to trace: set enabled: false in plugins/trace/config.yml (created on the first start);
- for the whole server process: set the environment variable TRACE_USAGE_REPORTING=off or DO_NOT_TRACK=1.
